Elliot at sunrise!

1st early morning stint in the bag...Elliot is next on the bike.
Looks like it might be another cracking day...fingers crossed.

Day 1 complete

After 164 miles and 2900 metres of climbing we crossed the finish line in Auxerre.
Very tiring day but have been blessed with some fantastic weather.
Tomorrow's route is 184 miles to Besancon. Rolling countryside will mean a long day in the saddle. We will be on the road for 7am and looking to finish around 7pm.

We are getting there

124 miles under our belt...just over 40 miles to go today. Simon and Lee managed to rack up just over 30 miles before we found them.

First day done for Elliot

First day done for me...Giles and I have just completed our last stint and can sit back and relax...
Riders found. Suprisingly Simon and Lee powered ahead and we missed the pick up...good work guys! Back on road and in formation..good times

Riders lost!

2 riders lost on the road...Simon and Lee can't be found anywhere!

Andy H in the champagne region

All riders have now completed their first leg of the day.
Andy H is making his way through the rolling vinyards to Epernay. Unfortunately we don't have time to sample wine...although after last night, a few people won't be touching alcohol for a while!

Starting the second legs. All is going to plan.
Refuelling on canned macaroni cheese (real athletes food)

Thursday, 24 September 2009

After checking in at the hotel we went out to a local restaurant for some food. It was decided that we would sample the local beer and head towards a bar.

We were all up at 6 to go and get breakfast...some more awake then others, then set our two riders off dressed as spiderman. Mr Willington has now been sent on his way....we expect something to happen anytime soon

We're going underground!

We're on the road

Got vans, riders, bikes and werthers original butter candies...happy days!

Making our way to the Channel Tunnel.
